DEB Demographics
DEB students are a diverse group, both from the perspective of STEM disciplinary expertise and demographic categories tracked by the National Science Foundation and other federal agencies. We currently have ~180-200 students - the exact number fluctuates throughout the year, as we have a rolling admissions process that surges during the fall, as well as graduations that occur throughout the academic year, peaking in spring.
As of October 2024, here is our demographic "snapshot":
- 188 Total DEB Students
- 117 Female (62%) / 68 Male (36%) / 2 Prefer not to answer (1%), 1 Gender Queer (0.5%)
- 51 Students from Historically Underrepresented Groups (27%)
